So for the three of you that follow my blog, you may have noticed I seemed a bit quiet last week.
That's cuz my Wife and I picked this little guy up at the baby store and then spent all week getting him to pose like this:
However, I'm back now and have many things to discuss. Most of them have to do with Airsoft. Ok, ALL of them have to do with Airsoft. Who am I kidding?
I'd like to give a shout out to Carp, over at CQB Radio, who is a good friend of Pyramyd Air. Carp runs the show there and does a pretty darn good job, in fact. He's an avid player himself, not just a chairsofter, which I think is certainly part of the reason the show does so well. He just released Episode 14 on Tuesday of last week, which also happens to be the day my son was born. You can download his shows/podcasts for free on iTunes or you can stream it online at http://www.cqbradio.libsyn.com/
Here's an overview of the latest episode before you listen:
CQB Radio: Episode 14 - M120 Spring Has Sprung
- Intro and Welcome
- Word on the Street: Ops around New England and in the U.S.
- Assessment: Echo 1 PDW, HFC M190, and S-Thunder Landmine
- Tricks of the Trade: Looking back at the North Atlantic Airsoft Expo
- Loadout: Paladin Go-bag, UTG Messenger bag, ESS goggles with Cortex Clip, Under Armour tactical gloves, and a Voodoo Tactical loadout
- Dr. Airsoft: Dental Safety
- Retailer Review: Justin from Combat Sports Supply
- Just In: Nope...
So check it out! All the cool kids are doing it. So you know it's good. Or at least socially acceptable.
In other news,
Roundhouse Productions, LLC (www.cqbchallenge.com) is hosting their monthly event at Fort Ord in Monterey, CA on May 22nd. The event is called OP: Caspian Gold and will probably end up to be a pretty good time provided they don't let in too many people. Sometimes the games can get a bit crowded, but if you're just looking to shoot a bunch of dudes (and a few chicks) with your favorite BB blaster then this is the place to go.
Also, the big one is coming up: The West Coast AI:500 - Op Red Reign II will be held on Oct 15th-17th. Registration will open for the event around the month of July on the Roundhouse website. This is a large event with lots of players, sponsors and good times.
Here's a few shots of the field for those of you unfamiliar:
Another WE M14 GBB Update:
Check out the action on this prototype demo.
Notice there doesn't seem to be a cool-down issue, nor does it seem like a lot of gas is getting vented/wasted through the open bolt area in the receiver. I'm very excited.
I know what you're thinking. Holy blowback! That looks like a good time!
Here is one where the fellow in the vid shows off the bolt-lock functionality. He also shows off his really long pinky fingernail. Why would anyone need such a long pinky nail? Anyway, check out this one.
Also, speaking of WE, Pyramyd Air has received their shipment of WE GBB Pistols with Caspian trades, including several new additions to the catalog. Check out these beauties!
And yes, they shoot as good as they look!
