Did anyone catch my random German language reference?  Anyway, this part of my A&K M60VN Review features my A&K M60VN box mag getting cut up like the Fourth of July.  Wait...what?!

Yea, that's right.

I didn't like the way the box mag looked at me, so I cut it.

I cut it wide open so I could see its guts.

Also, I see that Blogger has pulled some sort of prank on me for yesterday's blog in that it has refused to publish the post in its entirety.  I am currently working on recovering the data that I spent quite a bit of time creating, but I may have to rewrite the dang thing, which I can assure you, will make me want to choke a cute & cuddly teddy bear with no remorse while in blind rage.  I do apologize for the inconvenience.

Oooooh, the humanity!!!  I don't even know what that means, but if you look at the picture directly below these annoying words, you'll see that I butchered the snot out of that mag.

A&K M60VN Box Mag Issue - Feeder tube needed to be repositioned to allow the mag to be mounted on the gun.

Why?  Because A&K placed that grommet in the center of the mag bag.  I assume this is where they intended for me to thread the feeding tube for the BBs to travel from the box mag itself into this badass Airsoft machine gun to be fired.  However, as I pointed out in my initial review of the A&K M60VN, there were some design flaws, OR, what I really think happened based on certain insider information that us Airsoft bloggers are privy to, somebody at the Airsoft sweatshop factory got lazy and used the wrong box mag in order to complete the gun and have it ready to ship out on time.  This is all assumption, of course, but still.  I've done a bit of browsing around the web for other M60VN reviews and for the most part, people seem to be please with their guns and no one that I've seen has reported this issue, so I'm guessing it's just from a batch that got sent out while the A&K quality control guy was "asleep at the switch," to to speak, or perhaps on a 3-month vacation celebrating Chinese New Year.

The Feeder Control Switch

I suppose in hind sight, all you really need to do is simply take the plastic container & agitator out of the mag bag, set the switch to your desired setting once and then leave it there, but I don't think clearly like that all the time.  PLUS, I find it super annoying to have to unthread the feeding tube & wires each time, so I cut this beehatch open yet again, screamin', "Thug Life!!!" while I did it.  Hacked up that playa hater good, too.  I used a lighter to singe the edges of the seemingly faux-cordura threading to prevent the material from fraying.

The switch on the A&K M60VN box mag was difficult to access, so I cut an ugly hole in the bag to alleviate the issue.

Since I didn't cut the hole large enough to see both rows of options, I adjust the box in each photo to see a bit better.  The A&K M60VN box mag switch settings are labled as follows in order from left to right:
- Left: "Continuum" - Continuous feeding.  No idea why this option is even necessary.
- Center: "OFF" - DUH.
- Right: "Auto" - Feeds only when trigger is fired.  This is my preferred method.  Although you'll notice I currently have the switch to the left, on "Continuum."  That's because some jackal really had his A-Game going when he built this particular gun and switched the wires or the labels, because my box mag works in the opposite way in which it is label on the switch, with the exception of the OFF setting.  That actually switches the box mag off and prevents it from feeding.  Not a huge deal once I figured out what the falcon was going on, but seriously, A&K.  Pull yourselves together.

Just looking at my horrible hack job makes me cringe.  No A&K M60VN Machine Gun deserves that, so rest assured I'm going to go back and clean things up around those edges, but unfortunately I don't always have the luxury of time, so I just did a quick and dirty job for illustrative purposes on the general idea of what I was trying to do.
