As part of my Dan Wesson 8 Inch Airsoft Revolver Review, I would have liked to have done more of a performance test yesterday, but unfortunately I had some real trouble getting it to shoot accurately.

The shots were hitting about 5-10 to the left of where I was aiming and there was no hop-up being applied.

The instruction manual was brief and didn't mention anything about a hop-up even existing, which is concerning to me, but doesn't mean that one doesn't exist in the Wesson revolver.

After visually inspecting the back end of the barrel with the cylinder released so that I could do so, I could see immediately, as I had suspected, that there was quite a bit of dirt, debris and/or grease in there that most definitely needed to come out of that inner barrel.

Here's a shot of the gun with the cylinder released, which is how I was able to get just enough of a peak into the back end of the inner barrel, where you see that small, silvery hole at the back of the barrel.

I really didn't want to have to take the time to figure out how to take this thing apart in order to clean it, I used an unjamming rod and small pieces of paper towel strips to swab the inner barrel, starting from the front of the gun barrel, with the swab and cleaning rod exiting the barrel from that silver entrance point I just mentioned.

Since the unjamming rod was flexible enough, I didn't have any problems pulling it out from that point even though there doesn't appear to be enough clearance for it to do so in the image.   

Just trust me on this one.

Not that greatest picture for details, but I'm pretty sure you can see at least some of the dirt & grime that I pulled out of there.  There's no way this pistol, or any other Airsoft pistol, was going to be accurate will all that gunk in there.  Unfortunately, by the time I had finished cleaning the barrel, to the point where, when I would push a swab through, little to no dirt would show up on it, it was dark and I could no longer effectively check to see if the accuracy improved.  So you'll have to wait until my next blog for that.  However, the important moral of this story, is that it's probably going to be a good idea to clean your barrel prior to attempting to shooting this gun.
